This is one of my personal favorites. Characters from Touhou Project.
OK, story time! So, someone uploaded this illust to danbooru and it got downvoted to hell because the people who frequent anime pic boards are generally not very good with sarcasm or humor or reading comprehension, so they COMPLETELY misunderstood the message of the illust and took personal offense because I was insulting their perfect waifus!!!!
Me, insulting my very own 2D girlfriend, Hatate Himekaidou...
Anyways, I found the whole situation very funny. Mainly because someone said I was "projecting" (I live for people using freudian shit), and you know what? Mr. Commenter was right because I AM a shallow snowflake shut-in after all.
Seriously though, I was just trying to make a humorous remark on ZUN's treatment of these young characters (Sanae is literally given the title of "Superficial and Shallow Human" in one of the mangas, Hatate is always, ALWAYS described as a shut-in, even in the latest print work, and Sumireko is a caricature of a chuunibyou, a special snowflake know-it-all who happens to *actually* have special powers...). I don't know, it's like he's trying to make light fun of issues he sees within japanese youth. As if ZUN commenting on actual real events through his characters was uncommon.
